A large Midwestern Engine Manufacturer requires wastewater treatment of spent cleaners for process steps. Oil and grease loading is in both emulsified and insoluble forms.Read the full post
- OMEGA AP-2140 is an anionic polyelectrolyte in hydrated form.
- OMEGA AP-2140 will react quickly at a pH level of 7 to 11 to flocculate metal hydroxides.
- A rapidly formed dense floc, of large size and agglomeration, provides for immediate settling in clarifier and holding basins.
- Metal hydroxide is tightly bound to the polymer lattice structure resulting in a high tolerance for mixing and shear resistance.
Type: Anionic polyelectrolyte
Form: Liquid concentrate
Charge: 40% charge density
Molecular Weight: High
Appearance: Clear liquid
pH: (of concentrate) 7 to 8.5
Density: 1003 gm./l (8.36 lb./gal.)
|Dosage Range and Feed Methods||
The OMEGA AP-2140 dosage will range from 20 ppm to 1,000 ppm depending upon solids composition and particle charge differential. A typical metal hydroxide dosage would be 100-200 ppm.
A solution of OMEGA AP-2140 is pre mixed, hydrated, and ready for application.
Dilutions of OMEGA AP-2140 are recommended to maximize product efficiency.
A dilution ratio of 10:1 (water to OMEGA AP-2140, or a 10% solution) is optimum for day tank make-up concentrations. Lower dilutions, if desired, are acceptable.
If a dilution is made, do not operate mechanical mixer for more than 5 minutes.
Tanks of plastic or mild steel composition are compatible. Pumps of plastic or any metal composition are compatible. Use OMEGA AP-2140 as if handling water.
|Safety and Handling||
OMEGA AP-2140 is a non hazardous material. Use appropriate safety equipment to prevent eye and skin contact. If contact does occur, wash with water. If eye irritation develops, seek medical attention.
|Container Size and Shipping||
OMEGA AP-2210 is available in 275 gallon totes, 55 gallon drums, and 5 gallon containers
EU sizing : 1040 Liter totes, 208 Liter drums, and 19 Kg containers
Spills of OMEGA AP-2140 are very slippery and should be localized and contained with absorbent material. As with any chemical application for waste treatment, conform to all applicable regulatory criteria.
